Currently used as an exhibition hall. Nice historic building.
It is a building of solid construction from the year 1562, being the most representative sample of Renaissance civil architecture in Cantabria, it is made with stones and marble, its design is by Simón de Bueras and the construction by Lope Garcia de Arredondo and the architect Juan de Cerecedo. On the main façade with three coats of arms representing the same field, with the Villa's arms in front (as they have been from the 16th century) with a tower over water, laid down by two ships and another wingtip. The shield commemorates the exploits of the Laredans seafarers in taking the cities of the south to the Arabs, it was awarded by King Fernando III the Saint.
