Gode Airport

Construction of the airport began in 1965 by the Swedish construction firm Skanska, and was formally inaugurated by Emperor Haile Selassie on 10 June 1966. And now nominated by president of Somali Region and Called (Ugaas Miraad Layli Airport.)

It is a simple airport with very basic and old facilities, but proportionate to the size, activity and infrastructure of the city where it is located, also considering that it barely has a few flights per week. The only flight that arrives daily (not every day) lands shortly before 10 am from Addis Ababa (from where it leaves at around 7 am) with a stopover in Jijiga (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) or in Dire Dawa ( Saturdays). And it leaves back after half an hour, making the same stopover and arriving in Addis Ababa at 1:00 p.m.
