Gheralta Lodge

The Gheralta Lodge is no longer.,it was destroyed by the civil war n Tigray. Hawzien was bombed and burned. Pray for the Tigray people.

Wonderful place!

The place is extraordinary. Terrific design and location (fantastic view to the Gheralta Mountains). Only one menu item served for dinner each day, which is probably a good sign (everyone gets the same dish, meaning it is specially prepared). I actually didn't stay at the lodge, but still give them five stars because they apologized sincerely after having overbooked and gave me free dinner. Seems like one has to book well in advance. I have never before seen such a place in Ethiopia, very tempted to come back.

A very good place to be with typical local architecture and equipment. Feel local cultural while enjoying international standards.
