Winn Hotel

One of underrated spots of the city

Pros: Excellent location, Nice staff, clean rooms, good WiFi speed, not overpriced, shuttle bus and good laundry service. Cons: the food needs a lot of improvement, noise at lower floor rooms, the lift makes noise, hot water is inconsistent, no refrigerator and tv channels are limited.

My stay at Wynn Hotel was much more than I expected. The hotel is very new, and is better than many I've stayed in the states. It is very modern, and is located center of everything in the city. When you step outside the hotel, you'll be on the main street of the city. The staff was outstanding, and very helpful with everything. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable, pleasant and enjoyable as possible. The internet was reliable over 98% of my stay, which is very exceptional for Ethiopia. The food is very affordable, and they have a range of dishes to choose from. The breakfast buffet is free, and I ate dinner there every day. They also have a very reliable ATM machine on site. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, regardless of their country of origin. I am from the US, so I think that says a lot. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Bahir Dar!

The location of this hotel is good, the rooms are spacious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The main downsides are that there were quite a lot of mosquitos in the room (I killed a lot and they seemed to keep coming) and the elevator is so noisy that it can be heard in the rooms. Overall, given the context and reasonable price, this is a decent option in Bahir Dar.
