Having looked at the place on line, seen the pics and read the reviews we thought this place looks idyllic. So, we emailed to reserve a pitch. At first sight it appeared less than idyllic to say the least.
On arrival the place did not look too promising. Nobody was about even though we rang the bell. So we decided to have a look around.
Our disappointment proved to be not unfounded. The place was shabby and unkempt. The shower/toilet facilities were undergoing some sort of serious repair (including an excavation outside the entrance) and even without that were not at all appealling. The grass was uncut and the electricity points unmaintained.
The site did not live up to the photos or the reviews by a very long chalk.
We came away.
Very friendly family. Great cider made on the farm. Fresh eggs for breakfast from the farm too. My French improved as the owners don't speak English at all so it was great!
Not only are you out in the French countryside, but there's also breakfast with farm fresh eggs and milk. This is a wonderful place and I would recommend staying here.
Outstanding place. More than the basics. E.g.. a tent for eating in if weather poor, a second set of sanitaires for those furthest from the main set. Wonderful homebrew cider and a welcome worth of note. I have been on many campsites. You will be happy here.
