Camping Bords de l'Eure

The area is really nice, this the only reason I gave 2 stars. But the people at the reception were not welcoming, and the rest rooms are too old with no one caring for repairing them.

The site is in a great location for visiting the lovely city. The pitches are a mixture of shade or sun easily accessed, however the grass pitches are not defined and poorly maintained. The toilets are really poor - footsteps still in 2019!!!!!! The laundry is also very poor with old deep and scruffy hand wash basins. The showers are slightly better and there is good hot water throughout. With some investment the site could be really good and very welcoming.

Great reception, booked us in even though the site closed 10min earlier for lunch. Great walks along the river for Dogs. Showers and toilets communal. No toilet paper. Showers luke warm as on thermostat, but washing up sinks very hot. Lots of trees so difficult to get satalite reception, because it was quiet we parked in front of the toilet block as clear so our satalite worked. Great for stop when travelling north or south.

Quite a big site located near to the town centre. Facilities basic and electric hook up very poor. Kept tripping all the time. Pitches were all muddy but to be fair that could have been due to the recent poor weather in France. Site was quiet when we visited (23.10.2019) as it near their closing time of 31.10.2019. Great dog walking along the nearby river.

Location for Chartres is excellent. 30 minutes and you are at the Magnificent Cathedral. At €20 a night for 2 people & a Motorhome in July is good value. Facilities are clean Yes you need to take your own toilet Roll & there’s no soap, but that is quite standard for this price range. Lots of poor reviews, but for location, it’s worth it.
