This is a campsite with lots of potential, that currently lacks a bit of vision and passion. The so-called bar is not a bar in my book. Yes, they might have a beer or a coffee, but you will only be surrounded by the family and their friends that run the campsite. It lacks what the dutchman would call "gezelligheid" which is best translated as cosiness, so in this case, the bar lacks cosiness. This same family and their friends throw noisy parties that can last forever if you try to sleep. I must say that they put the music off at 23:00 but in my opinion that is too late. You might be welcome to join them in your best French and preferably with a cigarette, but that was not my intention during our family summer holiday. I feel that the vision of the owner is not in line with most visitors at camping Bonneval. There were also some guests who didn't seem to have an idea about what is normal on a campsite. Talking loudly even at 3 in the night being an example of that behavior. As for the facilities: -Toilets and sinks are cleaned every day; -All washrooms have ONLY hot water. Too hot to wash your hands or face properly. We brushed teeth and washed hands in the dishwashing area because they have thermostatic taps (from cold to hot); -Toilets do not have toilets seats; -Toilets are not equipped with toilet paper; -Camping pits are large, some with a great view; -"Bar" has plastic chairs and no decorations whatsoever; -The campsite is located at an excellent location near to a great place to swim in the river Ardeche. -Clean, basic swimming pool without any shadow place and with a very limited number of chairs (I believe I counted 5 chairs). -Only cash is accepted at the bar; -Electricity works but bring a very long cable to reach your tent; -You can order fresh bread every day; -Communication in English (or Dutch or German) is not possible; My advice to the managers of this campsite: Make a choice, either you go for a party campsite with music, singing and yelling in the evening/night. Or go for a camping that focusses on nature and families. Both choices are good, but both at the same time is most likely not a very good combination, so pick one and be transparent on your website, social media and campsite rules about what choice you made. Good luck

Ridiculously expensive for what it is (very basic and minimal). We paid for one night 26.50 EUR for one tent, two persons, no car; by far the most expensive camping during our two-week biking trip through France. The sanitary facilities didn't even have one single tap with cold water to drink from.

Very warm welcome, super nice staff, always attentive. We came for a cure at Neyrac les Bains and it was an excellent stay in a superb setting. Quiet campsite with lots of space and a pleasant swimming pool. Nice little village of Jaujac. Stay to renew with great pleasure next year.

Very nice campsite, the welcome is top! Thank you! The owners try to accommodate the customers! I recommend without reservation! The pool is great! In the evening it's calm!

we (two couples) stayed in the "maison de Bonneval" for 3 weeks in September. The house was perfectly clean and very spacious. two "master bedrooms" with private shower and sink and a large double bed (queen size 160 x 210). There are two more bedrooms, each with 3 single beds. For these rooms there is a third bathroom with a shower and sink. The house has 3 separate toilets, 2 of which are in the sleeping area. The villa is equipped with all conveniences I mention: 5 burner hob with extractor, dishwasher, washing machine and large freezer / fridge combination as well as sufficient crockery and cooking utensils. Furthermore, a huge plasma TV with satellite connection (no Dutch channels). However, the WiFi is usually of sufficient quality to stream Dutch channels and possibly Netflix via a laptop. You have a huge covered terrace at the front and a smaller uncovered terrace at the side. We had a large gas BBQ. available that was perfectly usable and clean but that has clearly had its day. Contrary to what is suggested on some sites, you do not have a private swimming pool but you must use the swimming pool at the campsite. However, that was no problem because there were hardly any guests. The campsite itself is beautifully situated with the most flat, well shaded spots. Two spacious sanitary buildings that look perfect, which is more than enough for a campsite of 60 camping pitches. Not a campsite for people looking for bells and whistles, entertainment and organized activities. A great place for tranquility, nature lovers, hikers and cyclists. The owner Valerie is very nice and does everything she can to make you feel at home. When we were there (corona time) Valerie did everything herself. However, she all speaks French. During the season she seems to have the support of a lady who speaks English. There is a small bar but no dining facilities on the site. In the village of Jaujac (one and a half kilometers) is a beautiful square with 2 cafes and a few restaurants. 5 minutes walk from the campsite is a restaurant that has somehow collected excellent reviews on the internet, but we were certainly not impressed by what was on offer, on the contrary. In Lalevade (6 km) is a large Intermarché in the village a small Viva. Jaujac has two bakeries, of which the one in the Rue Paliette also sells regional products and basic necessities. Quality bread at this bakery is exceptionally good. The surroundings of the campsite are very worthwhile. This part of the Ardeche is much less touristy than the more southern Vallon pont d'arc, but in our opinion much more beautiful. There are many beautiful old villages and the nature is overwhelming. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday with three weeks of beautiful weather (September) certainly helped.
