Pavillon de l'empereur

After a few days in Paris which is flooded with tourists we spend the last (rainy day) in the area around our hotel in Coignières. Just selected some points nearby on Google maps. Well this was definitely off the touristic radar, nobody else in the area. You park the car after a short drive down a dirt road with potholes. The last approx 450 meters will be walking. In the middle of the lake u will find the Pavillion as a ruin. One structure without further signage of information. If you have the time it's fine to visit and most of all enjoy the silence and the swans in the lake like we did, but if you are limited on time you won't miss anything if you skip it

This pavilion is also named "Pavilion of Pourras", the name of the wood in which it is located. The site, appreciated for the huntings, sheltered a castle under the reign of Louis XV and was very appreciated for its hunts to hounds. Later, this castle demolished, Napoleon I built a new small hunting lodge composed antechambers and lounges. The building will be completed in 1808 then occupied from the Restoration by dukes followers of the hunt before being abandoned in the 1840s.
