Camping St. Vital ***

Am amazed this doesn't have higher reviews as I struggle to find a single fault. The staff are lovely and helpful. The facilities are spotless and amongst the cleanest I have seen anywhere. Lovely pitches in a peaceful location and many with shade. Short stroll into one of the prettiest towns you could find anywhere (great food & wine). Locked back gate (you get a key) and just step onto a 60km cycle trail. There's a good pool for which I guess you get discounted access but it's not too noisy. There is a train line but the trains are neither loud nor frequent and pass in seconds. One of the best campsites we have visited (and we're up to about 200).

Perfect campsite for visiting Cluny or riding on the nearby Voie Verte. Sanitary blocks are new and well maintained. And there are some mirrors, as opposed to the previous reviewer. Good WiFi. Not really a campsite to stay long, many people, like cyclists, only stay for one night. There is indeed noise from the (TGV) trains, but only during daytime. We had no issues with it. The swimming pool closes after 29 aug.

Cluny is an amazing little city to discover the South of Burgundy. Local food and wine are excellent. Mobil home at the camping site was brand new, very clean, camping was quiet.

The campground is situated in between the road and the train track, it can get very noisy. The reception is only open till 7pm, if come later you don’t get in. The restrooms are new, but rather unpractical. There are no mirrors and no trash bins anywhere.

Nice big places with enough shade. The entrance to the neighboring swimming pool is free. The sanitary building is simple, but clean. Like most camping in the area the reception is closed between 12 and 14. The beautiful little town is in walking distance.
