Although a welcoming and warming interior the Crown is nothing more than a shadow of it's former self. Before hand you could go in, have a nice quiet drink, play some pool, and play some music on the duke box. Now however you pay roughly £13-18 for one main which elsewhere would get you much more. As I sat down I felt harassed by the owners as they came to my table 4 separate times to ask how my experience was. The food however is amazing and to die for, I just wouldn't pay £14 for sausage and mash. Especially when I received a street rumour that most food they use to frozen not fresh.

Had Sunday dinner there early Oct. Lovely freshly cooked food. Really friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Would certainly return

Food was outstanding and excellent service. I felt like I was at a London restaurant. Quality, design and presentation could not be faulted. Thank you for a great evening

The food in this pub was nice HOWEVER I am giving this pub only a 1 star because of the attitude of the cook, my granddaughter found a blond hair in her food. This hair didn't match anyone in our party. I inform the bar staff QUIETLY!! As not to make a seen, my granddaughter couldn't eat it and didn't want anything else anyway having found that in her food, I just want them to know about the hygiene issues. The girl apologized and i thought that was that, but she had taken it to the cook, the cook came from the kitchen with such an attitude on him that the few people in there then knew what was going on he insisted the hair didn't come from his kitchen although our waitress was blond and I didn't see a hair net on anyone. I would of preferred a simple apology to the mouth full and £5 off my bill. The girl behind the bar did apologise and handled the situation perfectly. I think the cook / owner should leave complaints handling to the professionals girls behind the bar he employs
