Went for a bar lunch on a rainy day. Ordered burger and chip and mac and cheese and chips. Wish we ordered mac and cheese x2 as it was so good and they put mustard through it. Service was a little slow to start but after that everything was great and staff friendly.

The Lock Inn is a great pub for everyone to go to, it is located next to a series of locks leading up to the beautiful Loch Ness. The Macaroni Cheese I had was very nice and everyone I was with seemed pleased with their meals as well. The food came pretty quickly which was great. The Steak Pie at the pub is very nice but it doesn't have enough filling in it. The Urinals are close to the tap and when you wash your hands your ears automatically get blown off by the hand dryer because it is very close to the tap also. All together though the pub was very nice and me and my family enjoyed are experience there.

You’re tired. The day has been long, you missed the par putt on the 18th at the Ft Augustus Golf Club (designed by Harry Colt) and what can make your day? The Loch Inn! The barmaid, the barmen, they all worked tirelessly to serve us smiles and great food and a variety of adult beverages. Crowded? Yes. Did they work to get us a table, yes. Did we return? Yes, the next day and the next, too. Will we go back, YES! As soon as this pandemic finishes with us. Did I mention how attractive the barmaid was? Smile, and the whole world smiles with you!

Seems like a good wee place to stop for a beer. Would have liked to see more modern beer options available. Didn't have food.

Yeah, I would try the other places around. We had a few issues when we ate there. Firstly we ordered the soup of the day. Carrot and coconut, sounded lovely. When it arrived it was mushroom soup which my wife can't eat. They had forgot to update the specials board. At 1 in the afternoon... Secondly, I have attached the menu. It mentions "chips" 10 times. 9 of those times they mean chips.. The 10th time they switch to American and mean crisps. You pay £7 for a sandwich and a few awful ready salted crisps. They get 2 stars because they refunded us the grand total of £3 from a £23 quid spend. £7 quid for a sandwich... Honestly go down the road and get one for £3.
