Stopped here as nice spot on a sunny day by the river. I decided to have HALF roast chicken and chips and my husband had steak and ale pie.
Well, what a shock when the HALF CHICKEN was brought to table! I’ve never seen such a small half a chicken in my life! It was tiny. When I mentioned this to the waitresses she said that it is supposed to be small, ‘it’s a special kind of chicken I can’t remember the name of it’ ! Well it doesn’t mention a special type of small or ant type of chicken on the menu. A couple mouthfuls and it was gone, and it was rather dry. To top it off, the chips were not cooked through. I’ve had a better meal at KFC!
Not be going again, overpriced and feed you with a meal that is under standard !
Great spot by the river. Good pint of Summer Rocks. The town is now car free so it's safe and clean for pedestrians. Much improved.
Visited for Sunday lunch. Had beef dinner, served with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roasted parsnips, roast and mash potato, carrots, peas, kale and broccoli. Finished off with apple crumble. Very nice. Dog friendly. Very effecient even with current covid restrictions. Lovely location by the river. I'm sure we'll be back soon
The staff were really friendly and professional and it was reassuring with all the covid guidelines in place ! However I ordered a Thai tofu curry and I honestly nearly gagged when I tasted it ! Was inedible left the whole lot - the cook really needs to look up a recipe or at least get a jar of tai green curry paste from any supermarket which would taste much better than this !!! - it resembled vanilla rice pudding what more can I say
Wow. Lovely food, great service and amazing value. Booked very last minute, and so happy to accommodate us all. Family of 6. Thank you xx
