Fab campsite on the edge of town, attached to the town's rugby club..Initially thought that it was a strange concept, but it totally works!! No need to move the van once parked, as we just went everywhere on foot, & there are some lovely local walks taking in the scenery. Site management really friendly & accommodating, good facilities. Great food & a warm welcome at the rugby club too, open Thursday-Sunday. We will definitely be he back, & have already told our friends to visit when holidaying in their camper van too!

We stayed here for a week and it was OK. I must start with the fact that we did not have a bad experience but I just feel that whoever created the website for this place did an amazing job of selling it! So here is my experience. -The ‘children’s adventure play area’-it is not! A small climbing frame in the middle of the field. -The site is actually in the rugby club, obviously an old training field. What we found out was that they use the income from the campsite to help fund the players in the club-great idea! -50 water points? Not sure where they got that from but there are plenty. -Showers and toilets, these were ok but were only cleaned once a day and the floor in the ladies was extremely muddy come lunchtime. The showers were always hot and powerful. -Club house, the rugby club. It is clearly popular and rightly so. Friendly staff and good food (usual grub with chips, nothing fancy). In fact during Covid you had to book as it was very popular. -There was mention of a shop somewhere on the reviews but there isn’t a shop onsite. There were two couples there running it when we were there as the people who had been running it for a while were retiring. They were very nice. It is a safe 10 minute walk into Llandovery which is very small and has many cafes and at least three pubs that are all very good. The only food shops are One Stop and Co-op. Both have good essentials but if you are staying for a while and want a big shop it may be worth booking a delivery from somewhere as the nearest supermarket is miles away! We found this to be a great base for the walking that we wanted to do. We visited the Usk reservoir, Pen y Fan and Lynn Briane. You can also get to the river by going to the gold club and following the public footpath. Safe to paddle and a welcome visit in 30 degree heat.
