Loved this place. Perfect for our Motorcycle camping trip, with great roads and scenery around nearby. Little towns with a nice butcher for steaks to cook on the campfire. There's also the benefit of a camp kitchen with kettle microwave and fridge.
Lovely, quiet, friendly, adult-only campsite with a genuine warm welcome from the owners who clearly take pride in providing a genuine retreat from the stress and noise of everyday life. There are some basic rules and guidelines but they all make perfect sense and are based on respect for the beautiful site and fellow campers. Every pitch is marked out, with a built in fire pit. You can buy wood cheaply at the site - £6 for a bag of logs and some kindling. The facilities are good and clean, with recycling collections. We loved the fact there was a fridge we could use in the camp kitchen - no more sour UHT milk in tea for us!
Definitely one of the nicest campsites I've used in the UK. Really tranquil, a small site in a beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons. I was looking for a quite place to camp with my dog, and had been losing hope after the last camp site I tried was full of screaming children and burning caravans(!). But then I found Cuckoo Camping.
The owners gave a very accommodating welcome and clearly look after their campsite really well. It is a small site with pitches on an open but sheltered area of land. What the facilities lack in modern glitz they certainly make up for in charm, and are kept impeccably clean. The camp kitchen is wonderful and very generously stocked with utensils.
If you're looking for a peaceful, secluded site (with the fifth-brightest stars in the world!) then this is an absolute gem. My dog liked it so much it was really hard work to get him to leave. Many thanks to the owners for a lovely stay,
Quiet, friendly and great proximity to Black Mountain.
Great little camping site.
