Great place for big families, I had the 3br lodge for 8 nights! Near from all attractions in Glasgow and Edinburgh the lake view is extremely beautiful. Just keep in mind that the checkout is too early (10:00 am) and no exceptions even if you have kids and need time to make them ready 😅 also no housekeeping at all during your stay, no towel or linen changing as well! :)

Afternoon tea at the Boathouse restaurant. Very cute restaurant with comfy sofas and a nice atmosphere overlooking the marina. The afternoon tea itself was slightly hit and miss - the sandwiches were slightly on the dry side, but the cakes and scones were gorgeous. We had a voucher for afternoon tea at half the price, but wouldn’t rush back for tea at full price. However, the main restaurant dishes ordered by other patrons looked and smelled delicious, so I would pop by for dinner if I was in the area.

My wife and I spent two nights here at the beginning of our honeymoon to fill the gap between our wedding and flying out to Singapore. We arrived around 10 pm and checked in. when we got to the room which was supposed to be a junior suite but was a fairly cramped room with a couple of extra arm chairs, we sat down with the room service menu. When the food arrived my wife's club sandwich which was supposed to come with an omelette instead had a fried egg. when we called to complain we were told that they couldn't do anything about it as the kitchen was now closed, so only dishes from the fairly limited and uninspiring night menu. The following day we spent some time chilling in the spa and then went to the restaurant for dinner. The restaurant staff were lovely and were the saving grace of the hotel. The steak was tasty and very well cooked and then the Congratulations dessert platter we were presented with was a lovely touch. Feeling that the first night was probably just a bit of a blip yet more issues occurred when we went to check out. We were expecting to pay for the room service (grudgingly) and the dinner the night before, having already paid for the room when the booking was made. we were handed the full bill including the room. It turns out that the credit card payment had failed when the initial booking had been made but they had not bothered to let us know before hand. All in all for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel the level of service compared to any other hotel I have stayed in was awful and my rating would have been lower had it not been for the restaurant. Every time we interacted with the reception staff we were left with the impression that we were causing them an inconvenience

Beautiful escape.. Must have a car or get ur grocery ready
