Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was outstandingly good! Our room was slightly dated but the hotel are currently refurbishing. The room was comfort and cosy and that’s all that matters. It was absolutely huge! Fantastic space for the kids to run around. Would definitely go back.

New owners have been busy! A big extension, and a lot of decorating in 2 years. A delightful small hotel with extra accommodation in adjacent buildings. Easy access to the River Ayr Way. An easy 2km. walk upstream takes you to the village of Stair, but sadly, the Stair Inn is no longer in business. (Sept. 2020) Only 4 stars because I never give anyone 5!

Wonderful overnight stay in the Woodland Lodge. Mandy and her staff made us very welcome and dinner and breakfast were fabulous. We'll be back soon!

Enjoyed the hotel, even despite the CURRENT GLOBAL EVENT, and the staff was only too happy to accommodate our requests, so really can't fault them for service. Can't comment on the bar or restaurant unfortunately, as the circumstances didn't allow for it (personally, but the bar and restaurant was open, if a little busy for us given the CURRENT GLOBAL EVENT), but can say the meal was delicious and the desserts tremendous, if sizeable, so might be worth sharing if you've not got the sweetest of tooths and a huge appetite. Parking was fine, signposted okay, with an overflow carpark a behind some trees that might not be ideal if you're security paranoid. Room was huge, very spacious and the bed gargantuan. Amazing views from our room (Oswald) and all the usual amenities (but above par WiFi for a hotel, big plus there). Definitely recommend for a short getaway, bit could prove just a bit too far from things if you're hoping to do a walking holiday to the sights, but nicely situated in a car (if the country roads aren't a turn off). All in all, whilst not anything spectacular, it's comfortable, beautiful and well kitted out, definitely worth a quick getaway, although perhaps to fully enjoy it, the CURRENT GLOBAL EVENT having passed would help!
