Great free museum with so much to see, with lovely gardens and an animal walk. There's a cost for the Aquarium, Butterfly house and exhibitions but an annual membership is really good value if you are local. Staff are helpful and friendly.

This museum is supposed to replace the Museum of Mankind, which was located in central London and contained superb pieces which were masterfully showcased. Here too there are some very beautiful pieces. Unfortunately there is a lack of peace and serenity to appreciate these objects at their fair value. The museum gardens would be more suitable for this kind of activity.

An interesting museum, handling COVID well. I liked this museum and the exhibitions were interesting, however if you are travelling far make sure you book the Aquarium and the other temporary exhibition as the free areas probably aren't worth a long trip. The gardens were nice even on an overcast autumn day, the animal walk was quite wholesome too and the outdoor snack hut was reasonably priced with tasty drinks and snacks. A note of warning, with the booked time slots, turn up as close to the start time as you can. We arrived at 1153 for a 1200 slot expecting to be waved through but we were asked to come back at 1200. If you do come really early there is free access to the gardens though, don't need to book.

This gorgeous museum is an absolute gem. Not too enormous in size so you can cover it all even with toddlers. Some really well preserved displays and a divine Victorian glasshouse. Together with the amazing cafe, aquarium and gift shop, it's an absolute must-see!!

The gardens and park are lovely and beautifully maintained. The cafe is a little expensive - almost £12 for a tasty lasagna and £1.55 for a small tin of water.
