The staff is very friendly and cooperative but some of them are quite rude.

Under funded, overworked and unappreciated staff. Management should really do better. For one, more creative ward based activites are needed all the therapeutic activites are based off the ward, better food and snack options. En suite bedrooms for more privacy a flimsy curtain that gets pulled down every other day doesn't cut it. Why some wards still have dorms? It's terrifiying to be expected to share a room with aggressive people or people that don't sleep and instead spend the night walking in and out of the dorm or shouting. Why is the excuse for every single time we want to go on escorted leave that the ward is short staffed? Management needs to sort this out. A REAL zero tolerance for abuse towards staff is needed, I have seen nurses get hit, spat at, hot drinks thrown on them, slapped and verbally abused with the most vile and sometimes racist comments. Better doctors are urgently needed or should I say doctors that are actually interested in doing their jobs, anyone who has been a patient at this hospital knows what I mean, ward round is a joke!!! I gave 5 stars because I met some amazing & caring staff that went out of their way to help and I feel they should be appreciated.

Not enough staff, staff members who will shout orders at patients. The inability to seperate violent patients from vulnerable ones. Activities only suitable for 5 year-olds, activities that can help some patients are restricted to only patients with leave. Restricting days when family of patients can have meetings with doctors to discuss whats going on with treatment. Lack of communication. There is no answer unless the NHS actually pulls their socks up and puts some real care into caring for people with mental health issues.

MOUSE OR RATS RUNNING AROUND THE KITCHEN (and thats within the first 15 minute of arriving, I was talked down to by staff, when I asked for my prescribed anxiety med after a doctor had said I could have them I was physically assaulted (hit and kicked) by a nurse whom I reported to the police and gave a statement against, tried to kill myself on the ward by tying a ligature, got refused access to a phone to call into work and uni, never got read my rights, and when I asked for paperwork to pass on to my solicitor I got told no, I was never given a address to the ward, I was never told where I was, 2 days later I'm back at home left with no support and basically left to fend for myself, also one of the easiest wards I've been on to escape from. Nurse's have no respect for patients, there was racism, it was unhygenic, and staff assulting patients (yes I know the difference between reasonable force and assault). AVOID AT ALL COSTS
