As has already been said here, the self-service points are really helpful if you don't fancy joining the long queue (usually on Monday's). Help is usually on hand of you get stuck, too.

I always fear going to Post Offices. Buying stamps barely ever takes shorter than delivering letter yourself. I always have displeasure to wait in the queue behind group of people who come to withdraw money, fill out DVLA driving license declaration (yes, at the counter), someone sending gazillions of eBay parcels and finally person who has business account and just goes to the counter jumping the queue and spends 15 minutes there. With 2 counters opened you can only imagine how sluggish the queue is. If I could I'd use Hermes for this letters as well.

Isn't nice, that in today's environment, that you still get good service from the post office. I went into the Post Office at W.H Smith in Orpington High Street and was met with knowledgeable and very helpful lady called Sue. I was replacing my international drivers licence for a full British licence and asked if, she could just check that I had filled in the form correctly and I hadn't left any details out. Throughout, the procedure everything was explained and all the added costs involved, such as postal orders etc. Just a big thank you to Sue for her humour, smile and patience. You should try and deal with the Post Office staff in South Africa. (What a Joke compared to the U.K) Chris
