The staff is ok as long as they understand you but when you don't know something they get a little irritated and they tell you briefly and to the point that you have to learn English. (this was my case at the beginning when I came to the UK but now we get along well) .
A little advice before going to the post office, write down on a piece of paper exactly what you need from them and possibly ask a friend before him how he requested the respective service.
You will feel much happier when you leave because you didn't make fun of yourself like at school when you didn't know your lesson and your teacher argued.
Most incredibly rude, miserable and unhelpful staff I have ever encountered. They always try to charge the most expensive option. This weekend they tried to charge my daughter £18 to check and send a passport when it was clear from the outset that all she wanted was registered post and that the service was not required. They have tried this overcharging little trick repeatedly in the past with me and friends and family... dishonest and a disgrace to the Royal Mail Name. I will go out of my way not to use this depressing place again .
Ladies behind the counter got annoyed with me because I have never send anything and had no idea how to do it so they HAD to give me instructions and that was SOOO annoying to them, they were so rude and there is definitely racial discrimination. There were asian people in front of me in the que and they had good service, as soon as my turn came literally their faces changed I said "Hello" and the lady immediately replied "Can you Not see i am busy right now" ermmmmmm I am sorry my bad I was trying to be humane.....Never going back there
The lady staff here should be removed for their jobs immediately, somebody senior from Royal Mail should pay a visit!
Very unfriendly
They don't pay tax on things sold in the store- ask for recipe if don't believe
