I am invited for an outpatient appointment. On the letter it is written which department I am invited for, it says outpatient dept one which is crossed and next to it I can see phone clinic.
This is very misleading as the futher notice says that I should attend clinic 5 minutes before, I have to wear a mask and some other advises. It says as well that I will see a member of the team.
So. I visited the hospital, I took an unpaid day off, I travelled for more than an hour just to be told by the receptionist that someone is going to call me.
This is ridiculous. I understand we are during the pandemic, but let's respect each other.
You should send more specific information about the appointment.
Anyway this is dermatology appointment, the doctor should see my skin - she can't do it over the phone. This is clearly neglect.
Got to the hospital at 7am for a lump removal. Processed and vital signs all checked by 0745. Paracetamol taken at 0800. Taken to theatre at 0845. General anaesthetic given at 0850. Woke up on ward at 1030. Given a sandwich, biscuits (3 custard creams!) and a cup of coffee at 1045. Asked at 1100 if I wanted to take home any free painkillers with me (declined, have plenty at home). Discharged at 1130 and back at home for more coffee and biscuits by 1200, with a nice little anaesthetic buzz lasting for the rest of the day!

My son was treated by the A&E Trauma clinic a few days ago. What an amazing team and I can't thank everyone enough for their kind words of encouragement and treatment of my son. It's awe inspiring.
