Post Office

Only giving one star as I cannot find a way to give it a zero...... This post office is about the rudest place I have ever been in - not only was I on the receiving end of some abuse last week when I paid in cash and dared to pay some of it in coins.... but today I witness a lady being accused of stealing some sellotape *which was already on the counter* and using it to seal an envelope. The guy behind the counter even gave her the scissors to cut the tape - then tried to charge her for the whole roll. When she said the tape was already there and thought it was for customers to use he got really abusive and ended up calling the police!!! I am pretty certain this is not normal behaviour - and fortunately the police took no further action with the woman - but this has got to be the most deranged thing I have seen in years.

Seriously this post office needs to address its customer service.. Unhappy customers refuse to use this local post office electing to travel to Twickenham or Hounslow.. Sadly this will have a knock on effect on other businesses in high Street. No one will visit Twickenham post office then return to whitton High Street to do their shopping! This post office is letting down a high street full of great shops and friendly traders. Who ever heard of a post office killing a high street...

I AM REPORTING THIS POST OFFICE TO THE POST OFFICE HQ and OFCOM. MANAGER CALLED THE POLICE OUT ! STEER CLEAR & DO NOT USE ! The staff at this Post Office are brutally rude and have no concept of exactly what is meant by " good customer service" !! I am VERY AWARE that the Post Office staff can become stressed and have to deal with really difficult customers. The Post Office in Whitton has also recently taken on the workload from Barclays Bank, after they closed the branch in the High Street, thus increasing their workload. I have ALWAYS the view that they provided a good service, in this particular Post Office, because I have used this office over the past 20 years and I am a well known local resident/business owner, in the local area and I pride myself on providing 1st class customer service to my own customers ! The male manager, however, seemed to be trying to start an argument with me, because I came into the shop with a jiffy bag that wasn't properly secured, since I needed to put some return postage into the bag before I sent it out. I was made to feel like a common criminal, by the male manager of this Post Office, in front of all the people waiting in the queue ! I am in fact, a public servant who has to have an Enhanced CRB/DBS check, on a regular basis ! POLICE were called to resolve this dispute, that involved the use of 6CM of cellotape ! This is a complaint that I sent to the Post Office ....... Hi, Re: Post Office 51 High Street Whitton, Twickenham TW2 7LB 29/12/20 Between 16:40 - 17:30 I was in a dispute about the use of some cellotape that had been left on the counter, that I used to seal my parcel. The unpriced cellotape had simply either been left on the counter, by the staff to help a customer who need to re-secure parcels that need to be posted. Was told by the counter staff that I would need to pay for the full reel of cellotape, even though I hadn't picked it off the shelf to pay for the tape. As a result, of the rudness I received from the male member of staff, I refused to pay for the tape and the POLICE were called... Obviously, I had been accused of stealing tape that I had allegedly picked up from the shelf, in order to tape up my parcel. I need to see the CCTV footage from this Post Office branch, so prove that the tape was left on the counter, without a price tag on it and I didn't intend to steal anything. Can you help ? Been using this post office for about 5 years now and in all those years despite the renovation the poor service I receive and watch others receive is disappointing. Although it looks very nice and the letters/parcels get delivered the customer service is in need of improvement. There are a couple of older employees who are rude and snappy without due reason. There is no need to be rude to customers when your opening times are incorrectly displayed and they are confused. The employees are always upgrading the postage unnecessarily. You need to check what the cost should be using the post office website before going here otherwise they will overcharge you.
