Hackney Post Office

Unpleasant experience! They are unfriendly and unprofessional.

They may have friendly staff but avoid as far as possible, especially the male cashiers. If you have to use them, ensure that they do not over charge you. They charged a member of my family nearly double the price by sending several large letter size envelopes as small parcels instead. They did not use the sizing card they have to measure the width. Because there were a lot of packages he only realised when he got home that he had been overcharged. When we went the next business day to correct this they were very dismissive. Be very careful and make sure you register your complaint with the head office and through reviews like this if they cheat you.

Be very careful of the cashiers stealing from you! Went to the post office today with my partner to change euros back into pounds. As we walked off, he muttered something as if he wanted to say something but he stopped...which was really strange to me. Only then did I realise that he hadn’t given us the right change and instead of telling us before we left, he decided to keep quiet. As we were about to step out of the shop we Recounted our money and realised that the cashier had given us £2 less. My partner went back and confronted the cashier about the situation. The cashier was in complete denial as he kept stating he gave us the £2. My partner insisted that the CCTV footage should be shown but the man was refusing as if he did not want to get caught for evidently stealing off of a customer. My partner was very stern with the cashier and was not backing down. The man was then becoming aggressive stating that his partner (myself) probably had it. That was when I interrupted myself into the conversation and stated that i did not have the money. That was when he started to shout saying that there was “something wrong” with my partner (my partner has learning difficulties) and after a few minutes of being in denial, he finally decided to give us our change and muttered away until we left. Absolutely disgusting behaviour! I’ve lived in Hackney for 15+ years and never have I been stolen from by the post office, an organisation that is supposed to be a safe and reliable place to get money. The way they treated me and my partner as a customer was terrible, never will I return.

Try to avoid this post office as much as you can. Unprofessional, rude and unhelpful staff. The last straw was when they refused to serve me, claiming falsely they didn't have time before they shut.

I like this post office because I think they are very quick and fast.staff who are super friendly and helpful !
