Not really fair for me to rate this Caravan Club site as we were visiting to pick up our friends for a day out together. Caravan Club members are probably all delighted with the site as it so clean, tidy and quiet. It's been established 50 years since Beechings AXE, and must have been an interesting railway station in it's day. Approximately 10 minutes from Brecon town for shopping, eating out, theatre, etc.
Absolutely lovely site with really friendly and helpful wardens. Peaceful, rural setting within easy reach of Brecon but lots of walks directly from the site.
Exceptionally beautiful hideaway. Wardens most helpful and friendly.
Gorgeous place. Amenities are lovely and clean! Friendly people... Well that was night 1. We picked a spot between 2 taps, thinking that it would be nice to have sone water.. The 1 tap was directly behind a caravan with a large German Shepherd dog (seemed fine with people but very dog aggressive) who was tethered such that you couldn't get to the tap easily and the tether reached almost to the far side of our car (5m + away). I approached the owner who told me that was his private tap and that he couldn't understand why people camped so close to his caravan (our tent site was a good 10m away) and that we should be careful with our kids near his dog and that he was there all the time, which I'm assuming the implication was he deserved special treatment. I spoke to the Warden Dai, who barely listened to me and was quite rude turning his head away from me and puffed on his vape machine, who said it was his private tap, but would talk to the owner. I explained that he should put up a sign on it if that was the case. Which he did the next morning. So, campers, in a large nutshell it's a glorious place, basically a field with 1 tap and very small amenity block as the area is geared for long term caravan owners. Providing there's no conflict the site manager is fine..
Lovely small quiet site . Good tv reception and Wi-Fi.
