Second time here and it has been a disappointment. Food used to be good!
•very slow service, takes up to an hour. Completely understand the COVID situation. Others were asking for their orders.
•food was in a room temperature(we sat outside), the roast chicken/other meat felt like it came out a refrigerator and not an oven.
•portion has also downsized.
•food was not tasty like before.
•staff didn’t look happy at all or was not lively, I asked the lady in the reception how she was and it was pretty blunt.
Overall, would not recommend? The wait for the food was not worth it.
On a positive note, It’s a dog friendly place and it’s spacious.
It was our first time back since it was the Mochyn Du and I used to regularly frequent the pub when it was called The Lodge.
The food wasn’t half bad, but some the staff had a real attitude and we had to call them over just to get our table cleared and order another drink.
Can’t say I’ll be rushing back anytime soon, such a pity really as it’s a lovely location.
Unbeatable when the sun's out but a decent enough selection of home-made or local brews even if not. Invariably lovely helpful staff. Great place to stop while walking the dog
Great afternoon. John had an excellent knowledge of the history of gin. I learnt a bit. Tried 5 different gins with one standout in Monkey 47 and another very good one in Bathtub. l can thoroughly recommend this experience for gin lovers and newcomers to gin. We'll worth the money.
Nice food, served promptly and through menu on a QR code. One way system in place and foot handles on doors toinimise hand contact. Lots of hand sanitizer. Excellent selection of drinks, especially the beer which is both brewed in house and complimented by national and international breweries.
