A friend had a fall while hiking. I stayed in this hotel while he was being patched up. I would recommend it as the room was a good size, comfy bed and very quiet. The food was okay.... Staff were friendly and helpful and it was clean. Maybe slightly overpriced for what it is, but, I am sure we paid top amount due to the situation and time we booked.

Pleasant room. We were in no.136 but lots of unecessary noise from room on floor above. Would definitely not have a ground floor room again. Other than that staff were excellent. Had a lovely evening drink and snack and our breakfast the following day was first class and served by lovely excellent staff. Totally recommend and we will stay here again although not in a ground floor room.

Staff attentive and welcoming. Set up very well for Covid19. Stayed in room 256 it was lovely. Food amazing breakfast superb and dinner is amazing. Will definitely be back again.

Noisy as room facing the motoway, and have too keep the window open as there is NO AIR CONDITIONING?!? We went from 6-9 Aug 2020 Surprise surprise the weather was 32- 36•C everyday. it was very difficult to sleep at night, no fridge. But other than these it was nice, nice pool, walking distance to super markets, easy access to restaurants, and relatively short drives to many scenes

Pretty shocked this is a 4 star hotel, besides the aesthetics/ decor, which is tired and actually quite grim within the hallways - there isn’t a lift. Staying here during the COVID-19 situation was also quite odd because I’ve found fewer hand sanitiser dispensers within the hotel (1, at the entrance) than in the Travelodge (seemed to be everywhere) that I stayed in last night and also not a single person inside was asked to wear a mask, again a contrast to the Travelodge (which was only £60 cheaper, being in Brighton) - however within the hotel reception area, it insists you stay to the left so at least there nobody is trying to walk into you. The pool area does have to be booked and people within the area are limited, so that’s something. They didn’t use the changing rooms, so cannot comment. It’s certainly not worth the money staying here because you assume it’s going to be like the other Mercures you’ve stayed in. Find a Premier Inn, which has super comfortable beds and is always at least painted within the hallways, so you don’t feel like you’re walking through some ghost town. Also, I haven’t slept at all; I have two small children and they have put us in a room right at the entrance to the second floor, so we were woken up probably 8-10 times by the people walking by, and the people opposite who only were quiet around 3am. We’d mentioned that to reception as soon as we’d booked in because it was our kids’ bedtimes, but nothing happened. Also, the window in the room keeps being blowing open in the wind - considering it’s the chilliest bank holiday in a long time, this is not ideal. I added the two stars because the beds are quite comfortable and the bathroom isn’t disgusting, but that is pointless if you’re unable to sleep. I won’t stay here again.
