I had my cervical stitch in darrent valley (delivery suit). All the doctors midwives were so helpful and kind. They help me so much. So excited to be have my baby here in may 2021

The last review sums it up pretty well, the staff are using covid as an excuse to treat patients like animals (even thou I wouldnt even want my dog treated that badly). I understand it is difficult times but mistakes keep being made there and people will die because of it. Moaning of lack of funding and equipment is not the patients fault and increasing the hospitals death rate will not improve anything.

I am sharing my experience here because NHS doesn't allow you to publish negative reviews on their site. Unfortunately I have to say I have only bad experience with Darent Valley Hospital. My recent one is when I had a massive lower back pain and muscles spasms. I was on the floor in pain from midday on Sunday. In the evening I called 999 and ambulance came at 9am next morning. Paramedics gave me morfine and I was able to get up and somehow walk to the ambulance and lie down. They were actually very nice and very helpful. Everything changed when I came to hospital. I was in agony and they said they won't give me bed but I have to sit in a chair. I thought I was going to collapse when I sat down. I couldn't move, I couldn't go to the toilet, get water, even take my phone and call my family. I thought I will be seeing doctor after all this time but they put my chair in A&E and I was sitting on agony for 3 hours. I asked for more painkillers few times and to be put on bed but without success. After all this time doctor gave me lots of very strong painkillers. After 2 hours I was able to get up. Is still couldn't walk. They said it's all they can do for me. If I want to know what is wrong any scans etc I need to ask my GP. They took me back to reception where I was waiting for my husband to pick me up. I asked them if they could move my chair close to the toilets as I wasn't able to get up and go for such a long time. One male nurse said he has got broken arm, which was obvious lie. Second nurse said not now. Third said she will come back to me but she didn't. After some waiting I ask paramedic who was walking by and he helped me. I ask patient for some water because I was sure nurses won't help me. There was another lady who couldn't move close to me dressed in jumpers and jacket. She asked nurse if she can help her take it off as she feels hot but nurse said no... All this time I heard them saying few times they are getting close to be "as bad as Medway". After seeing and experiencing how they treat patients I think they must be already the worst hospital in South-East England.

Saw a report on the TV today, about cancer patients failing to report their issues to their doctor and not getting the treatment they need. Well I'm a 4 times cancer survivor, having gone through 4 different types of cancer and their treatments, and due to the grace of god I've survived. Obviously lm considered a high risk for a cancer reoccurring, but that's a risk I have to live with, it's better than the alternative! I also have renal failure, for which I receive dialysis three times a week. I've had a hacking cough now for almost three years, coughing up a thick slime mixed with blood. Every day, multiple times a day I cough this up. I have begged my renal team to get me a referral to a chest/respiratory clinic for over a year, and constantly get told I need to see the doctor in charge of my renal care. I've lost count of the number of times I've been told the doctor is coming to see me while on dialysis. Only to find he doesn't turn up time and time again. Eventually, six months ago I threatened to go and complain to Pals, and as if by magic he appeared half an hour later!! He told me he would do the referral straight away as it was urgent. Three months later I've heard nothing, so asked to see the doctor again. This time I told him how angry I was with the situation, and he asked me "would you like me to refer you to the respiratory clinic" for Christ's sake he was supposed to have done that 3 months before!! (pre Covid 19) Now the cough has got worse, coughing up blood every day, and today (2,8,20)I finally get a letter telling me somebody from the Respiritoty clinic will be giving me a telephone call on the 20th of December.!!! So despite what the News report claimed and the commercial telling you consult a doctor if you've had a cough for more than 2 wheels, it's nigh on impossible to get anything done about it at Death Valley Hospital, no matter what you're Cancer history may be. Avoid at all cost, from my last 2 trips to A&E here for an ongoing medical issue ive walked away wondering why "save the NHS" Such a bad experience being talked down to so brazenly to my face and talked about when clearly in earshot, seemingly being dismissed due to age/appearance (my partner cant stay with me due to "covid" however I'm the only person sat there alone unaccompanied). When you receive comments like "If he was dieing he would have arrived in an ambulance" "Why are you even here" (when referring to an operation done privately the day before, the reason I'm here) Providing statements from ambulance control and the out of hours privet hospital doctor both stating I needed immediate xrays due the the problems steming from the operation. To then be left for 2hours before even being triaged, and before you think it was busy there was 4 paitents in the waiting area.
