Steeple Bay Holiday Park

Very relaxing .lovely dining area good for social distancing. Do a lovely roast dinner on a Sunday. Not sure that I would like to go in the height of summer as I'm over 60 and there would be to many children for me

Caravan dust free but oven racks not clean, and cooking utensils not clean. Sofas had dried mud on them. On the plus side, it was nice and peaceful, beautiful site on the estuary. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was nice (expensive)

I booked a 4 night stay at Steeple Bay Holiday Park for me and my daughter. I chose this location as it looked quiet, peaceful and tranquil. My daughter is a ward sister and an infection control specialist, so given recent events with Covid, I felt she needed a very well deserved break. First impressions always count and this resort failed as soon as we arrived. Upon arrival we visited the clubhouse to get a drink and use the loos prior to check-in. The womens toilets were in an appalling state, so much so we were told to use the gents toilet intead. Given the current Covid situation we were extremely uncomfortable with the uncleanliness, my daughter even more so given her knowledge and experience of infection. We also noted that the location wasn't quite as picturesque as the promotional image portrays. Please be aware before you book, this is NOT a coastal bay, it is a muddy river estuary. Maybe I was being naive when I booked, but I feel Park Holidays should make this much clearer in their promotional blurb, especially for those with small children expecting beach time and shore walks. We were also advised that the boiler for the heated outdoor pool was broken and the water would be very cold. As we waited to check in and given the above, we started reading the resort reviews. They don't make for good reading. Cleanliness with the caravans seems to be the overriding concern. We didn't even stay to check in. We left and went home. Sorry Steeple Bay, you need to up your standards and some.

It's got everything you would need for a great holiday away, pool, arcade, children's play area, restaurant, bar all with social distancing it's also very peaceful so great if you don't have children and just want to chill out. Even though because of covid we can't have indoor entertainment the staff are doing everything they can to take the entertainment outside and making it fun for all the kids. And social distancing is everywhere so feel totally comfortable and confident Definitely coming again.

Park and accommodation seems to be kept nice and clean, way more so than other Parks Holidays places we've been, and staff at reception and bar all pleasant and helpful.
