Chigborough Farm

Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere to camp.. small lakes are gorgeous. We did our first camping experience there and absolutely loved it. Facilities were good. Hot showers on site... I definitely recommend this place... There is even wood pizza oven to hire...

We stayed in the Grebes nest, it was absolutely beautiful and very well thought out. The decoration was spot on and the views were fantastic. We had a few issues with the pod. The TV does not pick up signal, we asked about what we could do and was told that it is only intended for DVDs (which we were not told originally). The heating also took a good few hours to warm up the pod, there also wasn't any instructions for this. There was also a series of small stains on the bedding. All of these are of course forgivable and understandable, it was the conduct of the host that really let the whole place down. At 10:40pm on our first night I received a text from the host stating that they had double booked our pod for the two nights that I had booked. They asked us not to eat the food that had been left in the fridge as it was for the guest that missed out, they told me that the other guests were "already very disappointed". They also went on to tell us that the guest that missed out was an NHS worker. It felt like we were being made to feel guilty for being there, I really don't know why they had to even mention that they had double booked? When I asked this, they said that they needed to give the food to them. I advised that this wasn't very COVID friendly... We decided not to stay the second night, as we were made to feel so unwelcome. The host was sarcastic and dismissive of our comments throughout and even blamed our feelings on the weather. We would have loved to have come back but for the price (£290 for two nights) was appalling for how we were treated and what was actually provided. Would not recommend at all.

camped here a couple of times and loved it. we booked in to arrive - however i caught coronavirus. We obviously informed the owners that i had it and that it would be irresponsible for any of the family to come as advised by goverment guidance. When i tried to rebook she couldn't let me have any date at all in school holidays equivalent of what we had paid for. She wouldn't refund all the money as she charged me a cancellation fee. The messages i received from the owner regarding this were so rude and not sympathetic at all. she said its not her fault i got the virus. I am sympathetic to small business owners however there is never an excuse for rudeness. She then banned me from the site because i challenged her about this and she mentioned a time 3 years ago where my son became ill and we had to cancel. we have been here 4 times before and even if we were not banned i would never go here again. Go to another site that treat people better. And god forbid dont get corona! Camping and Caravan Club have been informed and investigating

Spacious, well-resourced, tidy and in a beautiful setting to boot. Very highly recommended!
