Excellent carvery
Good
Very good social distancing well organised and friendly staff but the Carvery was a let down ! Meat tasted ok but very dry and the pork crumbled when being carved and was like bits of string on the plate ! ‘Roasties All ‘3‘ of them were the smallest I’ve ever had on a roast , gravy was like water and carrot and swede mash looked like blended baby food... and tasted like it too Unfortunately!!! carrots were nice tho . Expected much better for £12 per person and would not be eating here again. Definitely one to avoid for the Carvery.
This place came up on Trip Advisor as doing great fish and chips. We phoned to book as they were doing Eat Out to Help Out, but they said to turn up and hope for a table which is what we did. We were seated straight away and the tables were spread out to enable social distancing. We both had fish and chips which were delicious and great value with the discount. Basically, this is pub grub so maybe not somewhere for a special occasion, but very enjoyable and great customer service.
We went for a Sunday carvery and sat outside on a sloping table. Under covid rules they monitored numbers and signed in each party. If staff are aware of how many people are in the building and there's no unexpected influx of customers why did we wait ages for a round of drinks? The barman who eventually brought them failed to give us carvery tickets. When this was rectified he said we would be called to the serving area. We kept checking and didn't see anyone getting food. My daughter went to the loo and saw a fully stocked carvery on her way past. My husband went to ask what the problem was. I went to find my husband who was standing by the bar waiting for an answer. After being there for forty minutes we left. NOT HAPPY!
