This was on my birthday weekend and my mate and I had planned in going to Ruabon Mountain, but the weather had other ideas!
After searching and calling a couple of other campsites, we were recommended Pen Y Bont by both other places.
We arrived at 6.45pm only to find the office closed, so I called the emergency number. The woman who answered was super pleasant and said for us to pitch up and we could sort it out in the morning.
The site caters for caravans, motor homes and tent both large and small. There are super clean toilets and washing facilities for dishes.
We set up and slept. There is a lovely lake nearby and the town of Bala has everything you could wish for, including a awesome butchers.
The site has BBQ that you can borrow for free and wood and charcoal are sold in the reception area.
This place is highly recommended and will return again.
I have just returned from a short break here, Fabulous place. I would like to say a huge thank you to the Pen Y Bont team for making my stay ( as a solo traveller) a great one, felt really safe and comfortable so thank you again. I will definitely be returning 😁
We camped here for 3 nights. Great location with short walk to the town and lake. We only had one conversation with the manager/owner and she was very friendly and helpful. Showerblock and toilets are clean and well kept. Liked that we can have campfires and bbqs. Our only criticism of the site is that it felt a little over crowded, and the multiple cars parked on some pitches made it feel a bit like camping in a car park.
Great site close to the lake and very clean and tidy. Also being dog friendly was awesome and very helpful. Site facilities are also impeccable and cleaning is regularly monitored. 5 star imho would recommend.
Nice site freindly in the shop. Shelterd from wind by trees. Toilets clean. Showers were warm but the building was not heated. About 10 mins walk away from Bala centre.
Overall great stay 👍
