Rooms spacious, comfortable beds.
We ate in the restaurant which wasn't up to scratch, veg particularly the sprouts were undercooked, the restaurant wasn't particularly warm.
When checking out £7 was added to the food as a service charge. Although I could have refused to pay this charge my wife had already paid. The service was fine but the food wasn't as I would have expected and I wouldn't have paid this service charge. The staff were friendly and polite.
I like the Hotel du Vin chain. They feel like a boutique hotel but are in fact a chain. The bar and restaurant area was nicely styled, the centre piece being a large chandelier made of wine glasses. Service was on the whole good but a little slow for breakfast, I suspect staffing issues in the kitchen may have been an issue in these difficult times, however plenty of waiting staff. Overall an enjoyable night at the hotel. Room was clean and nicely decorated. Main shopping area was just a short walk.

This place is amazing. Great food and beautiful rooms. The service at dinner was a little slow, but they more than compensated for this and explained they were short staff.
There is also an amazing gentleman who works in the restaurant who is very very helpful and friendly. All adds to the great service. Would highly recommend a stay here.
