Great pub, lots of character, friendly bar staff and locals. Big beer garden too. Had a great overnight here. Recommend the lamb shank. The chef kindly subbed the veg for chips and peas too. Will definitely call again👍
We turned up with out a booking and was very pleased when they was prepared to seat 8 of us. Nice food and friendly staff, pub a bit rough round the edges but adds to the atmosphere of it.
Would not go back again. this used to be a thriving pub with good atmosphere. we arrived on Sunday 27th October. it was empty.not very warm. it just wasn't inviting and looked run down. Also when we asked there was know cask ale available.even the outside looked tired.
Came with my Dad, asked for 2 camemberts to start but ended up with one between us which was basically 3 small breaded cheese cubes. Which didn't seem like much, would probably have been fine if we actually got the order was asked.
Then had the mushroom risotto, which was nice, but didn't seem like much of a serving so I ended up getting a portion of fries before leaving.
Then somebody at a table opposite us ended up getting camembert, and this may sound pathetic but he had 4 cheese bits...
Did leave the place feeling a bit annoyed
Just what we wanted after a walk up and around Cnicht. A lovely garden and service through the afternoon was a real lifesaver! The beef and garden burgers were both excellent and the staff were very friendly. 🙂
