My wife and I attended the flu vaccination clinic today and were so impressed by the efficiency of the operation. It was truly outstanding. From the marshalls in the car park, the attendant in the foyer to the doctors and nurse practitioners administering the injection, the whole process ran like clockwork. From joining a line of 40 to 50 people to leaving the clinic after the vaccination was no more than 15 minutes. Well done to all the staff at Fleet Medical Centre. You were fantastic.
I’ve been a patient here for 19 years and can honestly say the receptionists are all rude , horrible and have on numerous occasions made me cry with their lack of care towards my health. They have hung up on me when I’ve asked for an appointment with my doctor. I don’t know why they even turn up to work when they all seem to not want to be there. I have been through every doctor as none of them believed me when I described my pain to them and eventually ended up with a nice lady although I have no idea what her name is.
Consistently poor experience at this practice, spanning years unfortunately. I don’t think they even care about the service they deliver. Just look at all the negative feedback.... How much does there have to be before action is taken? Interestingly, there used to be many more negative feedback comments on Google about this practice when I looked a couple of years ago after my last bad experience there .... where have all those negative feedback comments disappeared to?
How many telephone appointments do GPs at the Fleet Medical Centre make? I phoned at 2PM on 19 Oct to be 17th in the queue. 30 minutes later I was given an appointment on 5 November. That's 17 days later. Does this mean that GPs have 1 appointment a day? Please don't blame COVID.
Only joined the surgery about a year ago and my few experiences have been poor. First interaction - Booking a test that is Worldwide recommended every so many years took multiple attempts to book = no availability on their part. Second - the typical three week wait (same everywhere, I know) for an appointment to then be told one of the things I was there for they couldn't help with and the other to go away for (another) two weeks and then book a further appointment. At that visit I proceeded to attempt to (re)book for the first query - they had nothing for 3 MONTHS!! To be fair to that receptionist, she said to leave it with her and she'll try and arrange something. She also gave me another Centre to call. Thankfully I booked with them, as the appointment the receptionist managed to book wasn't for what was requested so that was a wasted appointment (the Doctor couldn't help) - second waste of time. More than two weeks later I've called to arrange the appointment the Doctor sent me away to make two weeks down the line and there are no appointments for this procedure for 2 weeks, the one and only date they had I couldn't do due to an already booked and paid for meeting (no-one's fault); therefore told to call back the next week (today). Today I called this morning, told the dates for this procedure hadn't been released yet, call back later. Called back later, told they can't book these appointments!! Someone else will call back, but "no idea' when! Obviously a procedure change since the previous working day. When highlighting "I know it's not your fault, but these procedures are ridiculous" I was sarcastically told that she was grateful they were now available as they were only available privately before (little did she obviously know, I have Private Medical Insurance). Quite why the appointment couldn't have been booked two weeks ago, knowing full well there's a two week wait, I do now know.
Found the receptionists very hit and miss, the odd really friendly and decent, the others grumpy and/or sarcastic - I totally appreciate it's a horrible job, but taking that job on you know you're working for the NHS, are going to have frustrated people (I was not rude at all on any of the occasions).
Unimpressed & I wouldn't recommend - avoid.
I have come across a decent surgery, but not in my current town unfortunately.
