I would not stay here again!!!! I felt like I had been dumped into kitchen quarters at the back of the house.!!!! The images did not match website images. I was given a bedroom which belonged to someone. Clothes seen hanging up on rail and clothes folded in the draw. Dust and cobwebs could be seen in places. The bedding smelt not washed. I was close to tears and at 2am checked out and booked into hotel in Whiteley. When I tried to call the owner he would not answer. The owner does not live on site of property. Very dishonest way to make an income.
We was staying here for one night and when we arrived we knew we wouldn’t be stopping just by the look of the outside! there was no one to greet us and a key left under a mat!
As we went inside it smelt of “wet dog” the breakfast was near the front door! There was a crate blocking the downstairs which cut off the downstairs where you could see a dirty kitchen and dirty shoes! the rooms were very minimal and not very welcoming or clean with mismatch beds and furniture, old towels that I wouldn’t have dreamed of using!!
Their was one bathroom between 3 rooms which would definitely been a problem if everyone was planning to go out and get showers and get ready as the rooms had no mirrors only one in the bathroom!
in the end after a unpleasant arrival and the owner giving us funny looks when she arrived for parking on the drive, we didn’t stop here and ending up moving to a hotel down the road.
I wouldn’t not recommend this place to anyone and all it deserves is a one star! We definitely won’t be back!! Pay that £10 extra and book the travel rest down the road! The place wouldn’t listen to our concerns and the mans response when we rang him were “I put clean bedding on what more do you want” we are now out of pocket from booking this place! Please don’t make our mistake and just don’t book it!
My two friends booked this "Bed and Breakfast" for one night. Upon arrival we should've guessed that by the state of the outside that the inside wouldn't be much better.
Taking advantage of the supposed "Free private parking" i parked on the drive while i went inside with my friends and make sure they got settled.
Firstly there was noone there to welcome us to the "Bed and Breakfast" even though they knew what time they would be checking in, so after knocking on the door we received an email informing that the door keys are under the matt?!
We let ourselves in and were horrified at the smell and dyer conditions.
We couldn't get to the "shared lounge/TV area" or even make the most of the "outdoor furniture" as the owners had nailed a wooden pallet to the stairs and the wall to stop us from going anywhere but upstairs. From what we could see it was dirty and messy anyway so we headed upstairs passed the "light continental breakfast" which was served behind the front door and did not look appealing at all as the little area did in the pictures.
At the top of the landing there was the owners opened letters on a side table with some more bits. We let ourselves into the "yellow room" which we guessed was ours by the tiny yellow smiley face sticker above the door handle.
We were hoping that once in the bedroom that the lingering smell of wet dog would subside but it was still strongly potent.
The beds looked as if they had just been slept in and not made or they were made by a four year old. The towels that were scrunched up on the chairs were fraying and old.
The "smart TV" that was advertised wasn't smart at all, if ASDA did smart price TVs then that may have been the only way it could be smart.
Considering it is a considerably new "bed and breakfast" the side tables (Which didn't match, neither did the bed bases) were dirty and dusty.
The description also advised there would a total of two bedrooms sharing one bathroom, there was in fact three bedrooms sharing one bathroom.
Which if we were to stay in this establishment i could imagine it would become an issue.
Unsurprisingly my two friends really didn't want to stay and i didn't want them staying there either so we decided to leave for another more experienced hotel, on the way out i noticed the lady who owned the place had pulled up and waited for us to leave before she went into the house while giving us a filthy look. So from the very distant physical interaction we encountered i can say they weren't welcoming and were not friendly or professional.
Avoid this place at all costs, the extra £10 for a proper hotel is extremely worth it. Wouldn't give this even one star.
