Fantastic value for money and customer service. I made an error in my booking and Nadia could not have done more to help save the day! She really went above and beyond. Would highly recommend.
Room was great, perfect for what we needed with small children. That's about all that was good though.
Breakfast was disappointing, barely cooked sausages, bacon, beans and scrambled egg that tasted of absolutely nothing. That was it. We were going to book for dinner but the breakfast put us off so we went out for dinner.
We have stayed in Holiday Inns before and absolutely loved the food and the service received. We were looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately were greatly disappointed.
On arrival to breakfast on our second morning we were immediately confronted by the maintenance man who started being very rude and aggressive towards my partner as he was not wearing a mask. My partner is actually one of those who are exempt from wearing a mask because of a condition he has. Yet this man did not want to hear anything and continued to make a spectacle out of my partner for the whole queue to see and hear. It was absolutely embarrassing, especially for my partner who was made to feel so uncomfortable that we ended up leaving to get breakfast down the road.
He actually said to my partner "there's no need to bloody cry about it" when he tried to respond to him and shoved a mask at him.
We totally understand that the world is a different place at the moment and these measures have to be taken, but also consideration should be given to those who cannot wear a mask and they should not be made to feel like a criminal because of it.
I was absolutely disgusted with the way he spoke to my partner, and in front of our 3 small children.
Absolutely would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone and will certainly never return.
A fairly standard holiday inn which considering it was open during the tier restriction period, managed to get things moving along well and cope with the social distancing etc. The room was a pretty good size and was clean and comfy for the most part. Breakfast was included and was pretty decent and they even advised of the best times to come down to avoid the busy periods. For the price we couldn't complain apart from one issue. The temperature of the rooms was far too hot. The thermostat on the wall said the Aircon was on 19 but it was much hotter than that but when you try and cool the room down you realise you can't go below the 19 setting or put it on cool air. Having checked with reception they advised that in the winter months all the rooms are kept at 19 and above "for the benefit of the older guests". We ended up being given 2 fans eventually to try and cool down the room and get what little sleep there was left to have. This let it down as the whole purpose of the room was to get sleep in.
Friendly staff lovely clean hotel nice food and drink all the facilities you could need 😁 no need to look elsewhere really.
We have used this hotel for business meetings for 3 years now. Pre covid it would be 4 to 10 times a month and we've always found the staff helpful and the coffee good. However just make sure THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR CAR!!
I was very tired driving home from Leicester and pulled into the car park to rest my eyes for a while as I knew it would be a safe spot for me, a women travelling on her own, to stop.
It was in the middle of strict covid restrictions and it didn't crossed my tired mind to leave the safety of my car and go into the hotel to register for parking.
That cost me £60 in fines!!! I did appeal but Parking Eye were less than understanding.
I will think twice about using this hotel in future.
