The Old Gaolhouse was tremendous. A great selection of food at very reasonable prices and all the young staff were fantastic - so friendly, cheerful and helpful. No pressure to leave and we were able to enjoy a good catch up with friends. We will definitely go again.

Really disappointed last night. Arrived about 5 o’clock to find a small queue. We didn’t have to wait too long before we were offered a table at the back because we were eating. Felt very positive at this point. We got inside to find it was very busy but persevered. It was suggested we ordered on the Wetherspoon app. I had the app on my phone already but hadn’t used it before. After a bit of time I got to grips with it. To make it easier for us both to make our choices we asked for hard copies of the menu. After choosing it became quite frustrating to find a lot of what we wanted wasn’t available. There were no Pizzas at all and the app was showing Red wine by the bottle unavailable. We had to settle for red wine by the glass. Eventually we decided Fish and chips was the way to go only to be told when it arrived sorry no Tartar sauce. Finally it was quite worrying the amount of youngsters on the premises, some of which were walking around without masks unchallenged. Also some of the youngsters were at times quite loud and uncontrolled. Richard

Good Spoons value. Food could have been a bit warmer. When it comes to Covid-19, they make every effort to keep with the rules.

This whetherspoons has a reasonable level of service and good prices. The atmosphere and clientelle can be disruptive. The design is slightly dated.
