First time we have eaten out since February because of lockdown - we could not have felt more safe and welcomed. Fully Covid-19 secure with procedures and one way system explained to us. Staff were brilliant, service was excellent and food was delicious. Thank you everyone at The Chequers for making this such a happy time for us.

Lovely cosy winter pub. Good food and good beer. Reasonably priced and friendly efficient staff. Not more you could want really.

Ive visited here a couple of times now and each time was lovely. They have a varied menu with some delicious starters, mains and desserts. The service is good too and I've never had to wait too long to be served or for the food to arrive. The atmosphere is cosy and warm, and the staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY Went here yesterday for lunch with my wife and our dog having seen the reviews about being dog friendly and it being splashed all over their website to be told pretty bluntly that dogs aren't allowed by what I assume was the manager being the bar. No other explanation just dogs aren't allowed. Maybe they should change all of their advertising to stop people making a wasted journey. Joke of a place - if you're advertising to be dog friendly then be dog friendly. Go somewhere else

Lovely service. Nice menu. Nice cozy atmosphere. With real log fires. Choice of draught beers, and fine wines. Value for money
