Fantastic service and food last Saturday 5/12/20. They could't do enough for us. Treated us like royals and the food was of a very high standard (well done chef) Felt very safe too. Top marks

Went for a quick lunch - coffee, sandwich and chips for 2. Only 3 tables including us. Food took half a hour to come, possibly due to problems with previous table's food (wrong items and undercooked). Our food had plastic wrap in it. When paying contactless, waiter took my card off me and tapped it himself (without showing me the machine to check the amount). Big no-no for me: tapping is the authorisation (like entering PIN), customer should do it. Only good points: coffee was better than you'd expect from a pub and skinny fries were fresh, hot and cooked well (crisp outside but still fluffy inside). Other tables burgers looked good - but apparently were undercooked.
Amazing food! So good. Their Kentucky chicken is outstanding. Lovely customer service too. Will be coming back here
Awful experience, I booked a room prior to covid and when it came to my visit the hotel decided to close for this time due to covid regulations, I was able to get in contact with someone at The George and was told that I could have a refund. After following this up, weeks later still with no refund I was told that I did not qualify due to booking "a non refundable room".
I would understand not getting a refund if i had cancelled my booking however it was cancelled for me by the hotel.
After numerous attempts to get a refund after being ignored by staff, i am currently in process of retrieving my money via my bank as I had spent all of my saving on this hotel.
I could not recommended staying here any less.
