Generous portions and reasonable prices but sadly, food wasn't quite up to scratch. Lovely cosy atmosphere and really great service. They have also done great to adapt for the pandemic so you feel safe and comfortable.
First time at The Black Horse last night and no for sure it won't be the last. From the moment we stepped in we felt the warmest of welcomes. The pub has lots of history which we enjoyed hearing about from the landlady who spoke so passionately about it. There was 4 of us and we chose the pub as a venue to plan our Florida holiday. We did this over a 3 course meal in the restaurant. I can safely say that this was the best food, presented beautifully, served hot and you can tell it was all 'home cooked'. The portion sizes were the most generous we have seen. Not many meals beat my husband's huge appetite but the Black Horse Stack did! Traditional puddings which were to die for! I can't wait to come back and also try their sister pub The Swan at Little Chart. Thank you for the best hospitality I have received and the most amazing food I have eaten in a very long time
Good home-made food, good choice, pleasant welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere, clean and roomy. Historic pub. Plenty of parking.
Great service, tables are not too close together. Food is locally sourced, tasty and served on hot plates! Good food at a great price.
