Great pub! Great landlord!... been a while since acquainting there due to covid. Highly recommended

Stopped here for a short break whilst on a 4 hour hike. LOTS of outside seating space and parking around the side street. Food looked absolutely delicious but we only had time to stop for a quick drink. I had the Kentish Cider that was on tap - it was so light and crisp, I wish I was a local! We'll be back for more local hiking and lunch next time!

Lovely traditional Kentish country pub, a choice of well kept local ales and superb food. Currently (December 2020) doing a takeaway service under Tier 3 restrictions.

After reading several reviews and good walks in the area decided to try it out. Firstly Covid restrictions are acceptable. We were also allowed to bring our dog in too which is a lovely touch. The Guiness was lovely and cool. The wine according to my wife was watered down and a large glass did not seem to be a large glass. The food is a typical selection and varied. The KR burger was not cooked great and to be fair an unusual taste due to bacon being mixed into it. A few chips on the plate and a salad put on for good measure. Average presentation. My wife had a Cheese Ploughmans. A average bit of cheese and a wedge of butter that looked like you had 2 pieces of cheese. A lump of a cooked end roll. Small salad and a slice of ham. Not the worst meal ever eaten, but the taste of £52 pounds is more memorable. Not great value and unfortunately not a place I would go to again. Only 2 people serving ,so if in a rush ( we were not) you may need to consider other establishments. Supporting a local business is important, but minor improvements required.

Found this pub whilst hiking from Ightham Mote. Seemed relaxed and comfortable on approach. There was plenty of outside, social distancing friendly tables. We just had some refreshing local cider that was on tap, I wish this was my local! Hopefully, we'll be back to eat.
