Good food, and very good selection of real ale. Friendly staff, and really easy and safe experience post coronapocalypse. No problem with dogs, and children's play area has reopened, so one for all the family. Added bonus (for some), complete mobile coverage dead zone. So if you want somewhere to get away from the rat race with your family in a lovely outdoor and relaxed environment, this is it.

Had a delicious hake and chips with peas. The hake which I haven't eaten before was tender and had a lovely flavour and the batter was crispy. The portion size of the hake could have been larger for £11.50 as it was a bit on the small side. The peas were good but it's not hard to get peas wrong, just standard boiled peas. Would be nicer as homemade mushy peas for the price. The tartare sauce was delicious, light and tangy and contrasted well with the hot chips. The reason for 3 stars is now the worst part, the waiting time... We (5 adults, 5 meals) ordered at 7.30pm and unfortunately being the last order taken, the food didn't arrive until 8.45pm. I understand completely that it was a very busy evening but having experience as a waiter before, you should always give a rough estimate on the waiting time when there are a lot of customers. It was disappointing that we weren't offered a free drink or crisps at all and due to our hunger 1 hour after ordering, we had to get 4 bags of crisps.

Fantastic place, well organised, excellent food and drinks and great play area for kids. My only improvement would be making sure condiments are offered rather than having to ask and mustard would have been good for me personally. Really like it here.

Came here for a last minute Sunday roast and boy were we glad they could fit us in! We shared a starter of the chicken liver pate. Was really delicious and such a generous portion particularly as we shared between three people. For mains two of us had the lamb and one had the pork. Once again very generous portions with lots of meat, gravy and veg! I struggled to finish mine! Only one issue was that the veg (broccoli and carrots) etc were quite limp, over cooked and generally sad. Overall very good value for money

Would give zero stars if possible. Told food might be up to an hour when we ordered - hour and a half later no food. Staff/manager not apologetic - just LIES (the food is coming now) and EXCUSES (our regulars are happy to wait up to 3 hours). HOWEVER, we watched 'pub friends' get their food straight away. Will NEVER go again. Recommend avoiding at all costs. Lots of excellent pubs around - no need to go here.
