The Bull Inn

I'd say this is 3-4 star review. I've been here a handful of times with my partner who comes here more regularly with his dad & friends, subsequently he gave it a 5 star review. Take into account I don't drink so other things take precedence for me, also I'm not seeing the pub through beer goggles lol. I think it's a nice pub with that traditional country charm. Interior & exterior are quaint & traditional. It's sort of small so you get that cosy vibe. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly or unfriendly , just kind of like focused on work ,so professional but not as welcoming as I like, however maybe with locals & my partner they are more familiar, I'm not going to hold it against them lol. They do have an outside with play area which is good if the weather is good & you want to go with children. They had a lovely menu of food however I found the vegetarian & vegan options few and far between with only a couple of items to choose from literally lol, this may however have changed as was awhile back since we had food there , so again I'd be happy to go again & peruse the menu. Overall I'd be happy to go there again with my partner & child. Atmosphere 4/5 - great , comfortable , charming Staff 3/5 - good ,helpful , focused , efficient Food - 3/5 - good , affordable , gastro pub grub ( maybe more options for vegan & vegetarian ) Outside 4/5 - great , looks nice , tables , parking , children's area Interior 4/5 - great, cosy , charming , nice traditional details , plenty of tables for size of pub. Toilets 3/5 - good , seemed to be cleaned & inspected regularly Overall score - 3-4 stars = good - great

I would just like to say anyone thinking of going to The Bull. Please think again. The owner is the most foul person I have ever met. We arrived at the pub hoping to have a lovely time as we where there to congratulate our friends on their engagement. We asked on arrival if we could put up small decorations such as a small banner. The staff kindly stated this was not a problem. We had also bought some cup cakes but where planning on having a meal there too! After 20 minutes the owner (Mandy) stormed out and started shouting at us in such a foul manner. After speaking to other people who too had gone to this pub they also have had similar experiences. She stated that we had not asked her permission and did not accept her staffs answers as enough. Apparently we should have asked for the owners permission before. She also marched all her waitresses out and lined them up, so we could say which one had said we could. The manner we had been spoken at was out of this world. Such a shame, we then later went to another local pub who where incredible. DO NOT STEP A FOOT INSIDE THIS PUB!!!!!!

Worth a detour if walking round Bewl Water. Roughly half way round the 13 mile walk and a great place for lunch. Chilli, rice or tortilla chips £12.50 was tasty and filling. Also noticed they do dinner for dogs which was a nice touch.

Very good service and food. Would have been 5 stars but one tea bag in a pot for two people is a bit mean.

Amazing food and such cosy atmosphere. Can't wait to be able to go back again.
