A great idea but the execution was poor. We booked for a Saturday night and there was very little space remaining when we arrived. After walking around trying to find a 'wiild' campsite for 20 minutes we squeezed into a patch of boggy ground with several other tents nearby. All the disadvantages of a 'wild camp' experience without the advantages.
There was a nice river, a supply of drinking water, clean toilets and car parking.
Great location. Friendly host. Good camping spots with fire pits set up and wood available on site. Beautiful walking areas nearby.
Brilliant back to basic camp site, ideal for wild campers or people who think they are wild campers as their is a toilet on site 🙃. The owners were very friendly and made us feel really welcome. We did a couple of walks they suggested to us which did not disappoint.
Would definitely stay here again.

The place is lovely, however, the owner of the site was a nightmare. Upon arrival it was obvious she was going to be a problem. She was extremely patronising to our group of 7 most of whom are in their 50s. She came over to our group annoyed that we put a tent on long grass shock we shortly moved. The place was covered in signs which were written in a way that made us feel unwelcome. The pricing is extortion and changed constantly. After we agreed on £90 for one night! she tried to charge £15 extra for the 3 people who were staying in a bell tent. Overall it is a hostile and unfriendly environment, we weren't at all welcome in her precious woods.
