As a post lockdown visitor to Kington, I popped into the Swan on a Thursday evening with my DOG for a swift pint of real ale. Pint was 5 out of 5. I sat in the outside area and had a good laugh with some workmen who were locals having a beer on the way home from work. They had fun putting up the umbrella on their table. I decided to return the following night to eat.
I noticed the very clear posting of the staff completion of COVID19 training certs at the main entrance.
I phoned on Friday morning and booked.
Self and wife turned up in the evening and were shown our tables.
I ordered ham egg and chips (£8.00) and herself had fish and chips (£10.00).
Portions were good, the ham was great. Nothing left on plates.
A pint of Abbot @ £3.60 & a pint of squash.
A bill of £21.80 was very acceptable.
Service was efficient although we were left on our own. Some staff interaction would have been nice.
Toilets very clean.
Would recommend for a very nice pub evening.
Excellent customer service and very good food. Lovely surroundings, the pub has been refurbished very well, and is light and welcoming. Impressed by the number of gin varieties behind the bar.
Awesome dinner there last night. They welcomed our dog and the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend.
We only visited the bar and restaurant. The food is very good (only a small menu due to covid restrictions) and we'll prices.. Bar is well stocked with a nice outside seating area
