To be clear this is not an hotel, not now anyway, it's a public house [or bar, as is the contemporary term]. It is a wonderfully grandiose building, albeit displaying a somewhat faded glory. At one time, standing next to the station as it does, it would have been a reasonably well appointed hotel for weary travelers to lay their heads and rest awhile. But times change, and Nelson no longer boasts a thriving economy based around the cotton industry and, likewise, no longer attracts the sort of visitor who wishes for overnight accommodation and so the hospitality now offered is limited to food and drink.

Enjoy going to the Station in Nelson, bar staff are very friendly and chatty. Had a lot of great nights in the pub.
