I was referred through the NHS for an outpatient appointment. Before my appointment I received a questionnaire and leaflet which stated "When you arrive stay in your car. You will be contacted by the team by telephone/text to let you know when to come in to the hospital. If you have been waiting more than 15 minutes please call the appropriate number" I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, parked up and waited for my call. 15 minutes past and I rang reception and was told to come in. The receptionist that greeted me made a comment that my appointment was at 9 as it was now 9.20 but I advised I had waited in my car as instructed. She said to sit in the waiting room and after 40 minutes had pasted (now an hour after my appointment time) I went back to reception as at least 2 people from the waiting from had been called through to see the consultant I was waiting for. I was again advised to wait in the waiting room to see where he was up to and someone would let me know. 20 minutes later a nurse pulled me into a room and told me that as I hadn't arrived on time for my appointment I had been marked as a no show. Why this hadn't been communicated to me when I checked in was beyond me. The nurse was lovely and apologetic but due to a miscommunication within the hospital I had been waiting almost 90 minutes for an appointment that had been cancelled. If procedures are going to be sent out please ensure any changes are communicated to visitors so both my time and the consultants time isn't wasted

Cannot thank the staff enough. Very professional and kind to a nervous patient. Everything was explained thoroughly and was made to feel very much at ease about my surgery. Working in a very high stress environment, the staff never passed on any of the anxieties they all must be feeling to me. The hospital itself is very clean and well maintained.

***edit*** I have just got my COVID test results back within 24 hours via the NHS, where I did the test myself (not someone doing it for me) and it has come back negative. Picture is attached onto review now. I don't understand how Euxton Hall Hospital rang me an hour before my operation to cancel it due to the nurse not taking a proper sample, I had the test done 72 hours before my operation too - I am beyond frustrated at the amount of time passed from my test, to be letting known 1 hour before my operation is due. It's highly unacceptable practice. I have tried ringing the number on the post too, and surprise no answer. If I was their private paying patient, would I have been treated the same? **** I was suppose to be having an operation done, I had a COVID test completed 3 day prior to this. The COVID test came back inconclusive due to not enough of a sample taken by the nurse doing it. I had previously done a COVID test myself at the end of September, and I was able to get a sample rather than someone who is a professional in this field? When I got a phone call from the hospital there was no empathy shown from the person ringing me and the phone call ended. I then rang back up to speak to my doctor to explain my frustration with this as I have no symptoms, and not come into contact with anyone is. Again there was no empathy shown by the doctor and he wanted to get back to doing his rounds, said he would speak to the ward sister. I explained that I was in constant pain, and it I had consultations cancelled back in late Feb. He then just hung up the phone call. How someone can do this when he knew how much in pain I was at the start of the year is beyond me? I then rang the ward sister again, explaining that if I wanted to get a COVID test done on the government website it wouldn't allow me too as I have no symptoms, and haven't come into contact with anyone. I pleaded for them to do temperature tests upon arrival, to see if anything could be done and again there was zero empathy shown and basically a tough, nothing can't be done attitude. She also didn't seem to care or understand how much pain I am with this. I was told a that I have to self isolate etc from getting the appointment, which I have been doing. I was on annual leave from work before so haven't seen anyone. I again explained I had no symptoms, from temperature, smell, taste, cough, sore throat. Which I told both doctor and nurse, they didn't care. The next listing for operations is now going to be way after Christmas, and I asked how is it right to be left in pain all this long, they didn't care. I understand that the protocol for the hospital that there are given time slots so I wouldn't see anyone in the hospital, and that I am left in a room on my own for everything. I pleaded with them for something to be done and they just didn't care, and now I will be left in pain for even longer. Just because you are a private hospital, and I am not paying for the surgery because it is done through the NHS doesn't mean I am any less of a person with feelings. I am shocked by the lack of empathy and understanding shown by the hospital.

Poor treatment for cancer patients! I was scheduled for surgery this morning, only to arrive at the hospital and wait 30 minutes to be told that the surgery would not take place this morning as they did not consider that I had sufficiently isolated. Although I had made the situation crystal clear! They breached data protection and called my parents home on Saturday evening at 9pm! Although they have access to my personal number. Left a message to say it was important, yet the inept ward sister failed to recognise that the hospital number will not take incoming calls after the opening hours therefore I was unable to get through to anyone, sending me in to absolute panic and forced me to drive, to the hospital at 10pm (30 minute journey from my home address) further putting a cancer patient at risk! They had the opportunity to call me to confirm the surgery was not going to go ahead yet wasted my time. I was also fasting from the evening before in preparation for the surgery, no date has been given for a further appointment. Allowing the cancer to grow further... whilst I wait. I was referred by my local trust to this excuse of a hospital. Clear preferential treatment for those that are paying patients as apposed to NHS patients! Absolutely disgusted. I have requested to speak to the the director - no response yet!

Absolutely lovely place was referred by nhs in the middle of lockdown for breast surgery .Arrived and was met at the door and shown to a nice en suite room with tv nice view from the window then some checks done by two nice friendly nurses. The surgeon came to see me and explained the procedure the aneasthatist came explained what he would do .Walked down to theatre a couple of hours later woke up back in my room. The aftercare was really good brought me drinks and something to eat .I ended up staying the night and went home the following morning after breakfast .Can't fault anything about the place and would highly recommend thanks to all staff.
