We recently stayed in this beautiful hotel and I would highly recommend a visit... .. Our room was stunning with beautiful touches of elegance... Dinner exceeded expectations.... Lisa's food was sublime and the restaurant service was professional effient and friendly... Breakfast was equally impressive with a superb menu and warm personable service... Our stay left us feeling refreshed and so very relaxed with an inner sense of calm... I highly recommend!

Well, we've had lunch here before and it was wonderful so we decided to stay overnight this time. Sadly, whilst the evening meal was delightful something wasn't quite right with the breakfast. The waitress commented that we were both vegetarians, we are not, (we had chosen the vegetarian gourmet menu the night before). We both chose the full English breakfast but half way through the breakfast my partner had to excuse himself rather rapidly, unfortunately he was violently sick. He felt fine before and fine after. Something on that plate either was not prepared properly or should not have been on that plate in the first place. When we checked out, I discreetly had a word with the manager, I said to her perhaps it was too much rich food, even though I knew it wasn't as we eat very well normally including rich food, I was merely trying to be kind, my partner has the constitution of an ox! The manager gave me her card and seemed quite concerned but made no contact the next day to establish whether my partner was now fully recovered so we e mailed the manager to inform her that it was definitely something on that breakfast plate that made him ill and she as the hotel manager needed to be aware so she could take appropriate action. Her response merely informed me that it was the senior sous chef who had prepared breakfast and therefore it was unlikely to be the food that was the problem. That was it, short and sharp, no concern, no apology merely arrogance in support of her Michelin starred restaurant. Such a shame, we won't return.

Old school wonderful. A long lazy lunch is a dying trend, one that northcote thankfully reverse. Waited on hand and foot by a fantastic team, they genuinely look happy for you to be there and share their fantastic food and hospitality in the most warm and wonderful way. An absolute pleasure from start to finish

Fabulous as always!

We have wanted to come here for years but could never fit it in but as COVID has arrived and our hols have been cancelled now was the ideal time. We had the £350 stay and tasting menu option and thoroughly enjoyed. Room was superb, comfy and spacious with underfloor heating in bathroom. We opted for 5 course tasting menu with additional cheese course. Fabulous but we both agreed first course of tomato was our favourite-- amazing flavour. Only issue we had was with breakfast. Although again delicious esp my cheese souffle, we had a long wait and had to ask for our sourdough toast 3 times before it came. I've never had breakfast that lasted 1 hour 20 - good job we weren't in a hurry to leave. That said we both had a great stay and would recommend.
