Excellent job with the refurb! Don't sit in the conservatory if you can help it. People seem to be forgotten in there. Apart from that, well worth a visit

A bit disappointing as it was highly recommended. Lasagne had virtually no meat and was too dry and stodgy with mainly pasta (but did taste quite nice). Two small dry pieces of ciabatta served with it. Pricey for what it was. Slow to clear tables. 2nd course arrived whilst starter crockery was still on the table.

We visited on the wednesday before this current lock down on the off chance of a table for lunch. It was very busy - most tables were taken- but we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff i think her name was Charlotte? She did everything to ensure we had the best time, she was none stop running around making sure everyone was okay, an absolute credit to the pub - not sure if she was the manager but she should be - she was fab! I will deffinately be returning as soon as we possibly can and will spread the word amongst friends and family. A fabulous place! Look forward to trying out the resturant when we can.

I have never written a review before but after my friend did about the incredible service we received I thought I would give it a go. Last day before lockdown and we had heard great reviews about this place. We weren't disappointed! It was very busy as everyone had the same idea to get out before lockdown! The lovely lady approached us and did everything possible to give us the best experience, she was very friendly, happy and could quite clearly see she loved what she was doing and made sure everyone in the building was okay. Fantastic. Charlotte made us so welcome as if we were a regular there, Jo & I can not wait to return and hopefully see the wonderful lady there again! I have never been anywhere that has looked after us so well! Thankyou The Gate Hangs Well!
