We just a great 5 night stay here. What a wonderful place it is. All the staff are warm and welcoming nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are clean and made up every day. Great food in the evening and breakfast big portions well worth the money. We will be returning sometime in the near future 😊

We as a family have visited on several accasions. We visited on sat 12 Sept, with 5 adults and my 4 young grandchildren. Booked in for 6 arrived 610 food ordered 635, told there would be a 30 to 40 min before served. Food arrived at 745. Totally unacceptable. The grandchildren are extremely well behaved, during the wait. The pub was not over busy, so why the delay. The food was OK but nothing special. The waiters and waitresses did there best. We left at 855. You should take account of children especially young ones and atleast make an effort to get the food out sooner. Chips with everything, no not how it works offer potatoes in other forms. We appreciate the problems with the current virus, but that has nothing to do with poor service, we will not be visiting again.

We stayed in the 5 pitch CL campsite opposite, and ate in the inn twice. My daughter had been there before and recommended it to us. She was right. The CL is more than spacious enough for 5 caravans, grassy, and surrounded by trees. The inn is old looking and quaint, with lots of nooks and crannies, a nice garden, and a bar that brings back happy memories of many years ago. They have an extension or two, which add a modern touch and some much needed space, but they blend in nicely and are warm and welcoming. The staff were fantastic and made us feel welcome and safe. The food was excellent. The inn is almost in the middle of nowhere, with little to no passing traffic, but thrives. You will find there's a reason for that, and they will have my custom again for sure.

I would love to rate this place higher as the meals are great and the staff in general are fairly good. However, in the current climate I'm not particularly impressed that waiting staff opt not to wear any PPE when taking orders or serving meals. I realise it's not obligatory, but fail to understand why you would choose not to protect each of us, yet would undoubtedly react differently should I approach you in the local shop without some form of protection. Next gripe. How on earth can you charge £4.50 for a pint of Adnams but still charge the same for a pint of Adnams shandy? Disgraceful. Hats off to the ladies behind the bar. Very accomplished and happy to listen to my grumblings! Waiting staff were a mixed bunch. Finished first round then waited fifteen minutes or so for somebody to appear and then had to grab them to get another round in. Word must have got around as we were asked by three different waiters in the next five minutes if we wanted anymore...... Obviously well organised.
